Still Under the Weather
I'm still under the weather. Weak and shaky and dizzy. Not getting much done, that's for sure. I totter around to do the few things I have to do, and then I need to rest.
It's snowing today. Not much accumulation. Looks pretty, though. A winter wonderland. Appropriate for the day after Thanksgiving.
Had a lady stop by this morning. Lost her horses. There's about 500 acres of woods between her place and our place. Don't have the foggiest notion where they could be. Got out overnight. A white miniature horse. A donkey. And I thought she said something else. She stopped here because she thought that because we have horses, maybe they would come in this direction. I have a feeling they're much closer to home than that. It was so windy and cold yesterday that I am wondering if the deer started moving Thursday night and spooked them.
So far, all I've seen around here is Isabelle and Kajun. Don't know what I would do if I did see them. Maybe put out some hay and see if they stick around until she can get over here.
Hope she finds them.

Stomach Flu
I must say -- I am sicker than I have been in a long, long time.
It all started Tuesday evening with nausea and diarrhea. By Wednesday morning, I was so weak I could hardly stand up. I did manage to feed the horses and the dogs, and then I collapsed on the couch with a blanket for the rest of the day.
Wednesday evening, Randy fed the horses and took care of the dogs. I was far too weak to go to church, so the choir had to do without me for the Thanksgiving Eve service. Randy says they made it through just fine. Good. Means I'm not indispensable!
Today I am still weak and tired and hardly have the energy to move around too much. I am not going to Thanksgiving dinner at my sister's. For one thing, I do not want to expose the whole household there to whatever this is. I also will need to lie down and sleep, I'm sure.
This evening, if I can find the energy, I will bake the wild turkey breast that we had in the freezer. Randy went turkey hunting earlier this fall.
Even though I'm weak and sick, I have much to be thankful for. My family. Randy. Friends. My four-footed friends. A warm house. Blankets and pillows. Food to eat. Books to read. Books I've written.
Happy Thanksgiving to all. And now it's time to lie down and rest again.
