Poinsettia Ornament

I finally got some spray paint and glitter and ribbon and decorated the milkweed pod poinsettia ornament that I had glued together earlier. The ornament is difficult to take pictures of because the flash shines off the silver paint too much. You can see pictures of it here and here.

Influenza I still don't feel all that great. Maybe I should just stop thinking about it, stop whining and pretend that I feel as good as I've ever felt?

Frustrated

I still feel crappy.

And now I'm getting whiny and am starting to feel sorry for myself. This is not the stomach flu -- it is full-blown influenza.

I had a flu shot on Monday, and I am wondering if this could be from the flu shot. Of course, if I call the clinic in town they will say, "it is not possible to get the flu from a flu shot."

Saturday afternoon I managed to drag myself to church because we were decorating the Christmas tree. I told another lady who was there (she is our treasurer and spent 20 years in the military) that I am very sick.

"I got a flu shot on Monday. I am wondering if it could be from that," I said.

"Probably not from a killed virus vaccine," she said.

"Oh," I said, "but it wasn't. It was a modified live virus vaccine."

She smiled slightly. "Whenever they used a modified live virus vaccine in the military, I always got the flu from it," she said.

Well. All-righty then.

Great. I have had influenza in the past, and I have been pretty much out of commission for two weeks, exhausted and fatigued and barely able to drag myself around. I can't be sick. I still have to finish painting the house before Christmas! Not to mention I have to get ready for Christmas in general. And fill book orders. And do my paperwork. And. . .actually, I'd rather not think about it.

On a brighter note, it is raining today. And it is 28 degrees. We got an inch of snow on Friday, and it looked very pretty and Christmas-like outside, but of course, the rain melted the snow, and now it just looks like plain, old dreary November. If the temperature rises today, we won't have any problems with ice. If it stays below freezing, then everything will be coated with ice.

If I can gather up the energy today, I am thinking I ought to call the lady who stopped by here on Friday to find out if she found her horses. I hope so.
