No More Blog Comments :-(
I am thoroughly disgusted.
When I got home Wednesday evening from covering a community forum about growth in a local school district for the newspaper, I checked my e-mail -- and discovered nearly 60 s-p-a-m messages in my in-box posted as comments to my blog. Someone had hacked into my blog and posted the junk.
The messages pertained to lots of prescription drugs (Nexium and Flexeril and Prozac and Zyban and Morphine and Cipro for example), as well as various ringtones for cell phones.
I had no idea people were still trying to stockpile Cipro in case of an Anthrax attack, but perhaps they are.
At any rate -- I no longer have a comments link on the blog. Randy immediately got busy on his laptop and removed the code from that section of the blog program.
After this, if you would like to make a comment on a blog entry, use the contact link at the left to e-mail the comment directly to me and then I can post it to the blog as part of the entry.
This is the same reason I no longer have a guest book on Rural Route 2 -- and the reason why there are far fewer guestbooks on many different websites.
What's wrong with these people? Don't they have better things to do with their time?
When I was a kid, my mother taught me -- and we also learned in school -- to "keep our hands to ourselves" and not to touch things that belonged to someone else.
I guess there are a few people in the world who missed those lessons.

Baby Has Arrived!
My great-nephew was born Tuesday afternoon! Unfortunately, there were complications, and he arrived by caesarean section. But the main thing is -- he's fine and his mother is fine.
I covered the congressman's "listening session" Tuesday afternoon for the newspaper, and went I got home at 6 p.m., my sister-in-law had left a message on our answering machine.
Eli weighed 8 pounds and 6 ounces. He was 22 inches long.
I called Amy this morning. She and baby will be in the hospital until Friday.
My brother and sister-in-law made it to the hospital last night, even though my brother was late getting home from work (he is helping a potato farmer plant potatoes -- actually, he's cutting the potatoes that the machine misses). And, Amy said, my brother and sister-in-law are planning to visit the hospital tonight, too.
I don't know when I will get a chance to see mommy and baby. Probably next week, seeing as they are coming home Friday and Amy's parents are coming for a visit this weekend.
Lady Bugs -- I must say, I am getting tired of sweeping up lady bugs in the basement. Every day, I sweep up lady bugs. Randy has been vacuuming them out of the windows frequently. But many more are falling on the floor. I would hope that they will all find their way outside SOON! Every fall, swarms of lady bugs descend upon our house and find their way inside to spend the winter. Well, it's spring now, you guys, so hurry up and find your way outside. . .
